Introduction to Nagasaki City
Since its port was opened around 1570, Nagasaki has enjoyed relations with many countries, which continue to this day. The city has recovered fully from the tragedy of the atomic bombing, and has developed as an international city of culture. Nagasaki also continues to campaign for the abolition of nuclear weapons and the realization of lasting world peace.
